I am NOT a fan of profanity but in this case, it’s warranted. I am a big sci-fi/fantasy reader, but I’ll tell you that Orson Scott Card will NEVER get another dime from me.
You know who will though? Michael Swaim of Cracked.Com. I already loved the site, but this morning a friend showed me this: ”Throughout the history of America, and indeed in the course of any developing culture, the universal historical trend (with some notable, but temporary deviances) has been towards expanding rights for an expanding number of people. I don’t believe that everyone who is against gay marriage is a homophobe. I am aware that very often, people fear change and think it will bring society to an end. Quite frankly, though, I don’t believe Orson Scott Card falls under this category. I believe he is trying to push his personal phobias and hatreds off as political wisdom. And anytime someone wants to deny someone Civil Rights for this reason? FORGET IT. They’re done. Next please.
